ཐི༏ཋྀ Kristina Fingerland is a visual artist working across drawing, painting, and textile. She studied Illustration and Graphic Design at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague, where she also completed an internship in the Sculpture Studio. She later studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague and the Glasgow School of Art.
Fingerland exhibits regularly in the Czech Republic (MeetFactory, Display, Centre for Contemporary Art) and internationally (EFA Project Space, New York; Detroit Kunsthalle, Norway; Hot Dock Project, Slovakia). She has participated in residencies including the Egon Schiele Art Centrum.
Her work is held in public and private collections, including the Gocar Gallery. Her textile installation is permanently displayed in the Atlas at Veletržní Palace of the National Gallery in Prague. In 2022, she received a creative scholarship from the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.
Fingerland is also an author and illustrator. Her publications include Post Mortem and Oikos, and she co-created the participatory book Seven Sisters with Tuckova (published by UMPRUM).
Her recent practice focuses on processing family trauma, healing intergenerational relationships, and documenting unique family rituals. She approaches the family as both an intimate space and a political instrument, exploring how imagination and critical reflection can transform traditional structures.
She collaborates with ideologically aligned initiatives, including Druha:smena and the Institute of Anxiety, and is engaged in teaching.
